Her son Wilson's middle name of Matthias was taken from his grandfather, Matthias Parr, and other ancestors of the same given name.

Vice President Howard Sandison announced at the State Normal University yesterday the death of Mrs. Parr, mother of Miss Lella Parr, head of the department of music at State Normal, at Greencastle, Saturday. Mrs. Parr, who was advanced in age, had been ill for two weeks with pneumonia and her daughter had been called from her music studies in New York when the end was seen to be inevitable. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Emma Parr Van Arsdel, a married daughter living in Greencastle. Special music was given by members of the Normal chorus. Several of the faculty and students attended.
