Trowbridge DECATUR - Ione G. Hanks Trowbridge, 96, of Decatur died 8 a.m. Monday (Feb. 14, 2000) in Decatur Memorial Hospital Continuing Care Unit, Decatur, IL.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Central Christian Church with visitation one hour before service time. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Arrangements are by Brintlinger's Funeral Home. Memorials: Central Christian Church or Meals on Wheels Program.
Mrs. Trowbridge was born July 20, 1903, in Hindsboro, the daughter of Frank T. and Mary B. Lackey Hanks. She had been a member of Central Christian Church since June 1922. She was a deacon emeritus, a member of the Guild Group, Priscilla Group, the Harmony Class and a Sunday school teacher. She married Russell B. Trowbridge in Flora in 1935. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1987.
Surviving are her daughters, Virginia Allison and husband James of Wichita, Kan.; Carol Withrow and husband David of Decatur; son, Russell Trowbridge Jr. and wife Bonnie of Pekin; son-in-law, Raymond Sturm of Indianapolis, Ind.; grandchildren, Susan French and husband Chris, Kimberly Hole and husband Brad, Craig Sturm and wife Kathy, Kristin Hilbish and husband Dave, Jonathan Sturm and wife Jenny, Paula Smith and husband Greg, Gregory Allison and wife Debbie, Jamie Allison, Amy Peters and husband Steve, Rebecca Withrow, Matthew Withrow, Sarah Ennis and husband Lance and Seth Trowbridge; 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Mary Sturm, one sister, two brothers and one great-grandson.
