Russell B. Trowbridge Jr., 78, of Pekin, IL passed away at 11:10 AM Thursday, November 22, 2018, at his home.
Russ was born on June 20, 1940, in Decatur, IL to Russell Bailey and Ione (Hanks) Trowbridge SR. He married Bonnie Sproat on March 18, 1967, in Marley, IL.
Preceding in death are his parents and one sister, Mary Elizabeth Sturm.
Surviving are: his wife, Bonnie of Pekin; one daughter, Sarah Ennis of Pekin; two sons, Seth Trowbridge of Pekin and Kevin Trowbridge of Peoria, IL; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Bailey and Judson Ennis, Elle, Lucy and Olive Trowbridge and George Morris; one great grandchild; two sisters, Carol (David) Withrow of Shawnee, KS and Ginger (Jim) Allison of Wichita, KS; one brother-in-law, Ray (Mary) Sturm of Indianapolis, IN.
Russ was a veteran serving in the United States Army.
Russ was a teacher / administrator for Pekin Community High School District #303 and Pekin District #108 and was an instructor at Illinois State University. He was a board member of the Tazewell County School Employees Credit Union, Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge and former member of Pekin Rotary Club. He also was the stage manager for Pekin Civic Chorus for many years.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Chaplain Carole Hoke officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM Tuesday, Nov. 27th at the funeral home. Military honors will be accorded following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pekin Union Mission or Illinois Central College Educational Foundation.
