Mrs. Martha Armstrong, widow of Noble Armstrong of Johnsburg, died yesterday morning in Westmount Infirmary at the age of 103.
Born Aug. 9, 1867, she was the daughter of Margaret Little and Enos Putnam. She graduated from Syracuse High School and Albany Normal School.
Mrs. Armstrong taught in district schools of Johnsburg, Thurman and Pittsfield, Mass., retiring in her late 60's. She was a member of the Johnsburg United Methodist Church and Wisteria Rebekah Lodge of Wevertown.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Russell Hills and Mrs. Herbert O'Byrne of Johnsburg, Mrs. Frank Hewitt of North Creek and Mrs. John Wade of Glens Falls; 11 grand-children and 24 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Swain Funeral Home, North Creek, today from 2 to 4 and 1 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the Johnsburg United Methodist Church with the Rev, Joseph Reicher officiating.
Interment will be in Garnet Lake Cemetery.
The body will lie in state in the church tomorrow from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
