He enlisted on September 4th, 1863, at New York City, New York, for three years service at the age of 23 and was mustered into service as a Private in Company G of the 17th New York Veteran Volunteer Infantry Regiment on October 17th, 1863. He served with the regiment in its campaigns through Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, and into Georgia, where he was taken ill and sent to a Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Private Weber died of disease on November 20th, 1864, at Nashville, Tennessee.
