Donna was born to Andrew Murray and Emma Elizabeth Bauman Hammond in Providence Utah on January 19, 1918. She attended Utah State University where she met Keith Burns Redd.
They were married September 24, 1940 in the Logan Temple. They made their home in Monticello Utah, where they raised their seven children. Keith passed away on October 7, 1992. Donna married Glen Black on July 15, 1993.
Mom was a gifted musician. She was generous with her time and talents, and richly blessed the lives of those around her with her beautiful music. She was a faithful member of the LDS church, serving with joy in all of the auxiliaries. She and Keith fulfilled a mission to Prince Edward Island in 1988, and served as stake missionaries thereafter. She had a quick wit, sparkling smile and laughed easily. She was so much fun to be around. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was compassionate and sensitive, and adored by all who knew her. Her children and grandchildren were the crowning jewels of her life.
She is survived by her husband Glen Black, Blanding Utah; brother Spencer Hammond, St. George Utah; sons Keith Brent (Sherry) Redd, Provo Utah; Paul Craig (Chris) Redd, Clifton Virginia; Curtis James (Marcia) Redd, Flanders New Jersey; Rick Hammond Redd, Taylorsville Utah; daughters Donalee (Dan) Wolfe, and Cindy (Patrick) White, both of Highland Utah; 32 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Keith, daughter Jeanne Redd Anthony, and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13, 12 noon at the Blanding Stake Center, Blanding Utah. A viewing will be held Friday, November 12 from 7-9 p.m. at the San Juan Mortuary, and from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the Blanding Stake Center. Interment, Monticello City Cemetery."
