Emma Lee was the daughter of Marshall and Flora (Lindley) Brown. She was one of five children; three brothers and one sister. She was raised in Young County, Texas.

Her family moved to Lamesa, Texas in the fall of 1944. She married Bill R. Ward November 09, 1946. They moved to Big Spring, Texas in early 1949. He preceded her in death December 14, 1985. She married Walter "Andrew" Wilson January 08, 1994 in Big Spring. She was the mother of two children; Virginia Ward and Forrest Ray Ward.

She was a active and dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church of Big Spring. In 1965, she began her professional career in advertising at Big Spring Printing. In January, 1975, she became the first Public Relations Director of the new Malone-Hogan Hospital. She was dedicated to the community and served on various service boards in the city.

At time of death she was survived by her husband; Andrew Wilson, Big Spring; one daughter, Virginia Mesz and husband Gary , Florham Park, N.J.; one son, Forrest Ray Ward and wife Connye, San Angelo, Texas; one sister, Ruth Marie Wren, El Paso; three brothers, Edward Brown, Comanche, Texas; Milton Brown, Graham, Texas, and Norman Brown, Moore, Oklahoma.
