Georgiana (Annie) McKee Calhoun was born during the third year of the Civil War in Macomb, McDonough County,Illinois. She was one of 11 children born to Anthony Wayne McKee and his wife Esther Ann Williams.She was the wife of David Winfield Scott Calhoun whom she married on October 3,1879 in Edina,Knox County, Missouri at the age of 16. They had 3 children together, Mary Jane Calhoun Middleton, Minnie Calhoun Haskin, and only son Frank Calhoun. Frank Calhoun and his wife Effie Bell Burbank (Calhoun) Wright gave birth to her only grandchildren. Mary Ruth (Calhoun) (Owens)Brody and Eve Mae (Calhoun) Caudle. Georgiana spent the first few years of her life growing up in Macomb, McDonough County, Illinois and then the family moved on to Knox County, Missouri where she met and married David Winfield Scott Calhoun. In 1900 the family moved to California, first up to Northern California in the "Gold Country" out of Sacramento and finely to Compton, Los Angeles County, California where there was plenty of good rich land for farming. Georgiana spent the rest of her life in Compton and in the home Scott Calhoun had built for his family. She is buried at the Angeles Abbey Mausoleum next to her husband of 57 years David Winfield Scott Calhoun.
