MRS. POLLY DOLL RITES HELD
-RESIDENT OF KNOX COUNTY MANY YEARS DIES IN SHELBYVILLE FRIDAY
Mrs. Polly Doll, 83 years old, and for many years a resident of the south part of Knox County, died Friday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.H. Shofstall in Shelbyville after an illness of almost three weeks.
Funeral services were Sunday afternoon at the Christian Church in Novelty. Burial was in the Cockrum Cemetery, south of Novelty.
Besides the daughter at whose home death came and where Mrs. Doll has been the last six years, there survive five grandchildren, Richard, Forrest and Burdette Smith of California, and Mrs. Leta Scott and Mrs. Fleta Minor of Shelby County; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Allie Barnett of Shelbina; and a brother, Mrs. W.R. McKee of Huntington Beach, California.
As Mary Scott McKee, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Wayne McKee, Mrs. Doll was born Sept. 9, 1863 in Macomb, Illinois. She came in early childhood with her parents to Missouri and spent most of her life in Knox County in the Novelty vicinity.
She and Jacob D. Doll were married Mar. 1, 1883 and to them were born three daughters, two of them whom preceded their mother in death, Annie in early childhood, and Mrs. Allie Smith in 1926, and Mrs. Shofstall, who survives. Mr. Doll died Apr. 16, 1923. Mrs. Doll united with the Christian Church in early childhood.
