Irene was the daughter of Herman and Auguste (Malzahn) Warsaw.

She worked for the Peoples National Bank till she retired. She was the banks first female Trust Officer as well as Vice President.

Irene belonged to First Presbyterian Church in Bay City, MI where she sang in the choir and and was involved with the Womens Association there.

Bay City Central High inducted her into it's Hall Of Fame.

She had a way with words and had written two published books of witty poetry; A Word In Edgewise (1964) and Warily We Roll Along (1979). She belonged to many poetry societies; Michigan, Pennsylvannia, Utah, as well as the National League of Pen Women and the Detroit Women Writers, and others.

She had a sharp mind and could recite her poetry from the top of her head without missing a beat. Having had the pleasure of knowing her in her later years I spent many stolen minutes setting in awe just listening to her. I consider myself privileged to be called one of her friends and own both of her books which she inscribed to me personally. To know her was to love her. I miss her so much.

Tho she never married and had no children her friends and admirers are as the stars in heaven, without number.
