Helen Virginia Coiner, 93,of Fishersville, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at Shenandoah Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 25, 1915, in Augusta County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Andrew Percy Small and Willie Anna Rankin Small.
She was the last remaining member of her immediate family, and was preceded in death by her husband, Ray W. Coiner in August of 2000, and a grandson, Ray Mitchell "Micky" Gladwell.
Surviving are her children: Richard Coiner and his wife, Marion, of Panama City, Fla.; Peggy Davis of Stuarts Draft; Shirley Gladwell of Staunton; Nancy C. Beverage of Waynesboro; Gloria Bost and her husband, Dewey, of Winnsboro, S.C.; Beverly Walters and her husband, Linden, of Staunton; and a grandson who was raised as a son, Gary Coiner and wife Tammy of Stuarts Draft.
Additionally, she leaves to cherish her memory 16 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, and was awaiting the arrival of her first great-great-great-grandchild.
