Injuries Fatal To H.G. Guy; Rites Monday

Hiram G Guy,64, a resident of Abilene since 1920, died in Hendrick Memorial Hospital at 2 a.m. Saturday of injuries received in an accident in the federal building.

A large ,heavy board which had been used in the forms for the second floor of the federal building, now undergoing extensive remodeling , fell and struck Guy across the shoulder.

Mr. Guy had been employed by the Post Office Department as an engineer since 1936.

Born May 1,1899, in Oenaville, Texas, in Bell County, he was married in Abilene to Virginia Howard 1929. She died in 1962.

Funeral will be Monday at 4 p.m. in Elliott's Chapel of Memories. Officiating will be Rev. Francis Benton, pastor of First Presbyterian Church.

Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Elliot's Funeral Home.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Thelma GUnn of Temple and Mrs. Robert Jarna of Rogers, Texas.; two aunts, Mrs. Pearl Hill of Pendleton, TX and Mrs. Emma Bechtol of Temple.

Active pallbearers will be E.V. Smith, John Milstead, W.D. Grovenor, Huie Tucker, Burlin Burrow and Pete Shackelford.

Post Office employees will be honorary pallbearers. Abilene Reporter- News 16 June 1963.
