Rufus George Sipe was born the son of the late Rufus Isaac and Mildred Irene Laird Sipe. Rufus married the former Bernice Marie George in Graham on Aug. 22, 1946. They were residents of Weatherford since 1966 and members of Grace First Presbyterian Church. Rufus made his career with Southern Airways as an inspector and retired after many years of service.
Rufus honorably served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army and attained the rank of Buck Sergeant.
Rufus was preceded in death by his son, Gary Sipe; parents; and brother, B.D. Sipe.
Survivors: Wife of 62 years, Bernice Sipe; daughter, Mitzi Maxfield and husband, Wade; grandson, David Maxfield and wife, Sarah; granddaughter, Chery Fikes and husband, Wesley, all of Weatherford; sister-in-law Marylen Sipe of Graham; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends that will keep fond memories in their heart.
