Jane Crawford, daughter of James Crawford of Tiviogmoy, Stranorlar Parish, County Donegal, Ireland, married William Marshall of Burt, Taughboyne Parish, County Donegal, on 30 Jun 1831 in Stranorlar Parish, County Donegal, Ireland. The wedding ceremony was conducted by the Rev. James Steele. They immigrated from Ireland to the United States with their eight children. The family entered through the Port of New Orleans on 27 Nov 1850, traveled up the Mississippi River, and settled on a farm near Carthage, Hancock County, Illinois, in January 1851. Their children were James Thomas Crawford, Elizabeth Martha A., Jane, John, William, Robert, Samuel, and Mary.
