"MRS. ADDIE NETHERLAND
Mrs. Addie Netherland, wife of W. S. Netherland, died last night at her home on Seventh Street, Fairmount Park after a short illness. She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Spiers and Misses Lizzie and Annie Netherland, and two sons, Hal and Harvery Netherland, all of Norfolk. The funeral takes place Thursday at 2 p.m. at H. C. Smith's funeral apartments, 306-308 Bank Street. Rev. S. W. Melton, D. D., of Freemason Baptist church officiating. Burial in Forest Lawn."
All census records indicate that Addie was born in North Carolina, as were her children. Her husband, her sons, and her daughter Elizabeth (Lizzie) are buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, VA, as well.
Addie was my Great Grandmother. William S. Netherland was my Great Grandfather. Lizzie was my Grandmother.
