Mrs. Mary Smith, wife of Benton Smith, died at their home a few miles north of Clifton last Sunday night at 11 o'clock, at the age of 78 years, after an illness of several days duration.
The funeral services were conducted at the Baptist Church in this city by her pastor, Rev. J. B. Fletcher at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon and at 5 o'clock the body was interred in the Clifton cemetery in the presence of a number of sorrowing friends and relatives.
Deceased was one of the oldest citizens of this section and has many friends of this section to mourn her death.
The Record extends sympathy to the bereaved husband and sister and other relatives who are left in sadness.
