WINTER HAVEN - Mrs. Daisy Bell Whaley, age 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday (Nov. 18, 2008) due to sepsis.
She was born in Wayne Co., Ga., on Sept. 23, 1917.
She was preceded in death by her husband Preston Hendrix Whaley, father James Jeffery Mizell, mother Laura Lillian Harris Mizell, brothers Tom, Owen, and Ernest Mizell, sisters Leila Aldridge, Mary Aldridge, Edna Hagin, Lottie Freeman.
She is survived by her daughter Rose Gail Polston and her husband Charles; son James Medford Whaley and his wife Linda; sisters Alice Chancey, Dorothy Jones; sister in law and good friend Nell Mizell; six grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven with service to follow at 6 p.m. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Oakland Cemetery in Waycross, Ga.
