Information below added at the request of findagrave contributor Peggy (46592383):
*From the records of Elizabeth Booth; H. A. Evans was a county commissioner in 1888. In 1889, with Judge Charles. S. Neathery and other commissioners, it was voted to build a fire proof courthouse. Henry A. Evans was the son of William G., Sr. and Susan Owens Evans of Georgia, who had moved to Alabama and then to Texas in 1847. Their children were Green F.; John B. A.; Jehu O.; Josiah; William G.; Frances M.; James R.; Henry; Lucinda; Columbus; Camlin; Clarissa J.; Elizabeth; and Louisa Evans.
*On 17 Mar 1996, J. R. Hicks and Mary Lane found this tombstone, cleaned it with styrofoam and the dates on the tombstone are as shown above. The dates are quite clear on the stone and there is no doubt as to the accuracy of the above. We do not know where Mary Posey Tallant got her dates but they are not from the tombstone.
