Retired Farmer

Adam Clause, 93, of Farmersville, Bethlehem Township, died Saturday at home.
Clause was a retired farmer and was road supervisor for 29 years in Bethlehem Township before retiring.
Born in Bethlehem Township, he was a son of the late Lewis and Melinda (Werkheiser) Clause. He was the husband of the late Meda (Breisch) Clause.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Farmersville, where he was a deacon. Surviving are three sons, Roy J. and Ulysses K., both of Bethlehem Township, and Paul W. of Easton; five daughters, Cula Ritter and Mrs. Lawrence Bernhardt, both of Bethlehem; Mrs. Clarence Brown of Easton, and Mrs. Evelyn M. Clark and Mrs. Ralph Troxell, both of Sarasota, Fla.; a brother, Sanvas Clause of Bethlehem Township; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Pfeiffer of Easton; Mrs. Ella Strause of Allentown, and Mrs. Laura Kemmerer of Bethlehem; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Daniel B. Snyder Funeral Home, 527 Center St., Bethlehem. Viewing will be 7-9 p.m. today.

Adam Clause, 93, road supervisor for 29 years in Bethlebem Twp., died Saturday in his Farmersville, Bethlehem Twp, home. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Meda Breisch Clause.
A retired farmer, he was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Farmersville, where he served as a deacon. Born in Bethlehem Twp., he was a son of the late Lewis and Melina Werkheiser Clause.
Surviving are three sons. Roy J. and Ulysses K., both of Bethlehem Twp., and Paul W., Cula Ritter and Mrs. Lawrence Bernhardt, both of Bethlehem; Mrs. Clarence Brown, Easton; Mrs. Evelyn M. Clark and Mrs.Ralph Troxell, both of Sarasota, Fla., a brother, Sanvas Clause, Bethlehem Twp.; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Pfeiffer,. Easton; Mra Ella Strause, Allentown, and Mrs. Laura Kemmerer, Bethlehem; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Daniel B. Snyder Funeral Home. 527 Center St., with the Rev. Peter Grimes officiating. Burial will be in Farmersville Cemetery, Bethlehem Twp.

Pappy Clause liked to tease. He had a large roll top desk in the basement where he smoked his cigars. Always had an ice cube tray of homemade ice cream in the freezer. Picture him in a straw hat and white linen jacket...he used a cane.
When I was a small child and visited him he would find a 50 cent piece to give to me and cried when we would leave. I only remember seeing him several times.
