Mary Louisiana Hodgeson was the oldest of 10 children born to William Bosanaya Hodgeson (1815-1890)and Anne Yarbrough (1829-1877). She married Andrew Jackson Ficklin, Sr. in 1866. They had 10 children: William Joseph, Martha Ann, Emma Dora, Sarah Jane, Andrew Jackson Jr., Wiley Christopher, Ada Ophelia, Francis Matilda, Lula Erata and George Franklin. Mary Louisiana and Andrew Jackson Ficklin were married for 52 years and died within one week of each other.
