Eloise Hackle Bennett, 81, died Monday, October 23, 2006, at Tattnall Community Hospital. The Toombs County native had lived in the Reidsville area most of her life. She owned and operated The Matador Restaurant in Reidsville and The Bulldog Restaurant in Lyons for many years. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bessie Hackle; her husband, Raymond Bennett; and a brother, Alben Hackle.

She is survived by a daughter, Robbiette Scott of Reidsville; sisters, Cleta Beth Corley and Barbara Harvey, both of Reidsville; Juliette Durden of Lyons; and Eva Connell of Mt. Vernon; a brother, R. N. Hackle, Jr., of Jeffersonville; grandchildren, Brock (Amy) Scott of Statesboro and Chad Scott of Reidsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home, Reidsville chapel, with the Rev. Robert Ferrell officiating. Burial was in Reidsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Sidney Miles, DeWayne Corley, Greg Hackle, Tony Jacobs, Norm Seibert, Ronnie McCall, and John Cheney.

Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home of Reidsville, Georgia, was in charge of the arrangements.
