Mt. Vernon - Mrs. Eva Hackle Connell, age, 91, of Mt. Vernon, died Monday, September 2, 2013 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County, and lived in Mt. Vernon most of her life. She retired from Ailey Manufacturing after forty-two years, and was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Connell; daughter, Mary Taylor; parents, Rob and Bessie Hall Hackle; sister, Eloise Hackle Bennett; and two brothers, R.N. Hackle and Alben Hackle.

Mrs. Connell is survived by one daughter, Hilda Taylor of Ailey; three sisters, Juliette Durden of the Elza District, Cleta Beth Corley, and Barbara Harvey and husband Ray all of Reidsville; five grandchildren, Michael Taylor, Leland Taylor, Shannon Taylor, Sherri Taylor, and Jarvis Taylor; eleven great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, September 5th at 3:00 pm in the Morris Cemetery near Kibbee with Reverend David Moxley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 12:30 until 2:30.
