Sylvester Smallwood
Sylvester Smallwood, 87, retired rancher, died Friday at Eventide.
He was born July 22, 1892, in Missouri. He married Phoebe Boggess Nov. 22, 1918, at Plentywood, Mont. They moved to Campbell County in 1916 where they ranched until 1960 when they moved to Sheridan.
Smallwood was preceded in death by his wife, who died in 1979.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Lytton, Gladys Stevenson and Esther Houston, all of Sheridan; three sons, George, Sheridan, and Roy and Clyde, Columbia Falls, Mont; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Champion Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Palmer officiating. Interment in Big Horn Cemetry.
