Michael Noonen died suddenly at his home in Princeville on December 15, at the age of 70 years. He had been a frequent sufferer for a number of years from asthma and bronchial trouble, but was apparently in his usual health until his sudden death last Saturday.
Mr. Noonen was born in County Waterford, Ireland, in 1836. He came to this country about fifty-two years ago. He was married to Miss Mary McCarty in Peoria in 1857. For twenty-six years he resided on a farm three miles south and one mile east of Princeville and for the past thirteen years he had been a resident of this village. He is survived by his wife and four children, Mrs. Wm. Long, who resides near Stark, and William, Michael and Mary, all of this place.
The funeral service was held at the Catholic church Monday at 10 a.m. and the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery north of town. The funeral was largely attended by the many acquaintances of the deceased, an evidence of the respect in which he was held.

From an undated Princeville Telephone obituary in the Princeville Historic Association obituary collection.

Obituary transcribed and submitted by Ethel.
