Mrs. Eileen Gillikin Wooters, 87, formerly of Greensboro, ran the race of life and won the final battle and entered into glory with Jesus on Saturday, October 18, 2008.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, October 24, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Jim Dollar officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Wooters was born May 16, 1921, the first of six children born to the late Dewey and Bessie Gillikin. She married the love of her life, Ernest Marvin Wooters in September 1941. Together they had two children; David Wooters and Marilyn Wooters Browne. She worked as the executive secretary for the city attorney in Greensboro until her retirement and was a volunteer at the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, where she was a member. She lived her last months with her son, David in the loving care of his wife, Nila.

Eileen leaves behing many wonderful friends and family; a son, David Wooters and wife, Nila, of Grandview, Missouri; a daughter, Marilyn Browne and husband, Greg, of Beaverton, Oregon; five grandchildren, Brent Wooters, Garo Nordstrom, Eric Nordstrom, Brad Nordstrom, and Kristen Neuman; 13 great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Daniel, Jacob, Matthew, Jesse, Kellee, Rebecca, Rachael, Simon, Catherine, Julie, Clista and Alexandria.
