He was a 1950 graduate of The Citadel and served with the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He attended Victory Baptist Church, a life member of Charleston Elks Lodge # 242, The Charleston Rifle Club, The Brigadier Club and Shadowmoss Country Club. Mr. Stelling was a retired Realtor.
He is survived by his wife of Charleston, SC; one son: Glenn M. Stelling of Summerville, SC; one daughter Dina Carter of Charleston, SC; His son-in-law: Andrew J. Savage, III and his wife Cheryl of Charleston, SC; six grandchildren: Andrew John Savage, IV, M.D. and his wife Ashlyn, Morgan M. Carter, M. Wade Carter, Joseph (Joey) Stelling, Dakota Milner and Alex Milner. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jacquelyn Stelling Savage and two sons, Wade Russell Stelling, Jr., and Harold Troy Milner.
