George E. Dresbach, a widely known citizen of Pickaway County, died at his home in Pickaway township, Friday, January 7, at 12:30 o'clock of paralysis, which had afflicted him for more than a year.

The deceased was born in Saltcreek township, Pickaway county, December 9, 1847, the son of William and Margaret Earnhart Dresbach; his grandfather, George Dresbach, one of the pioneers of Saltcreek township, coming there from Pennsylvania, with others of the family in 1811.

The deceased was educated in the district school, and early adopted farming as his life pursuit, growing to manhood on the home farm, and afterwards began farming for himself in Pickaway township where he afterwards lived, and was successful in farming and stock raising and trading, and in later years was also a sucessful auctioneer.

Mr. Dresbach and Miss Julia Parcells, daughter of William Parcells, of Saltcreek township, were united in marraige, December 25, 1871, and seven children were born to them, six sons, Emanuel, of Tarlton; Pearl and Homer, of near Muncie, Ind.; Lewis and Delano, of Chalmers, Ind.; Snow Dresbach, at home, and one daughter, Mrs Fannie Stage, widow of Shelby Stage, of Circleville, who with the mother survive. The deceased also leaves two brothers, Milton Dresbach, of Circleville, and Scott Dresbach, of near Tarlton; and three sisters, Mrs Mary Combs, of Mt. Pulaski, Ill.; Mrs. Catharine Reicheiderfer, of Saltcreek township, and Mrs. Amanda Shride, of Groveport.

George Dresbach was a man of strong character, and energetic in whatever he was employed. He was always interested in public affairs, held office positions in the township and for many years was an influential Republican in the county.

Funeral, Monday afternoon, the religious services conducted by Rev. J.W. Willis, pastor of the U.B. church, at Circleville. Burial in cemetery adjoining the Dresbach church.
