Jack LeRoy Brissey was born in Burlington, Iowa, to Robert and Margery Ives Brissey. His parents divorced when he was a baby. He lived in Burlington all his life.
Jack married Nellie C. Koger on Oct. 19, 1957. They had a daughter, Beverly Ann. They divorced in 1965. He then married Doris Downer. Doris had a son, Bob, who later took the name Brissey. They later divorced in the 70's.
Jack worked for the Royal Crown Bottling Co, then in later years was a mechanic, worked construction, and was a bartender.
He raced stock cars for years. He loved to play in the pool tournaments around Burlington. He liked fishing and hunting.
Jack died of a massive heart attack at 56. He was survived by his daughter, Bev; son in law, Robert Harrington; 2 grandchildren, Tera and Joshua Harrington; his stepson, Bob Brissey; and 2 step grandchildren, Sam & August, 1 half brother, Bob Brissey; and other relatives.
He is greatly missed.
