Services for Ryan Lee Arthur, 13, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Cooper Funeral Home of Athens with the Rev. Joe Warren officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Antrim Cemetery near Grapeland. He passed from this life on Oct. 31, 2008, and joined his parents in their heavenly home. Ryan was born to Penny and Mike Arthur on March 7, 1995. He spent his early life in Grapeland, Texas, and attended Grapeland Elementary School. He was preceded in death by his mother in 2002, when he was seven; his father followed her in death in 2005. He went to live in Sanderson with his aunt and uncle, Maje and Tommy Arthur. He attended Sanderson Elementary and was currently a student at Sanderson Junior High, where he played football and was on the cross country team. He faithfully attended Sunday school and church at the First Presbyterian Church in Sanderson. Ryan is survived by his special sister and brother-in-law, Carrie and Chris Schikevitz; his precious niece, Samara; half brother and sister, Paul Arthur and Penny Arthur Cies. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Maje and Tommy Arthur, Jean and Jerry North, Troy and Cindy Arthur, Pam Sumerall and Joan Arthur; many loving cousins; and his extended Sanderson family, Memo, Lyndee, Jon Tom, Tanna, Landry, and Laycee. The family will receive condolences at the Cooper Funeral Home of Athens from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
