Morris Wayne Bevers, 73, of Freetown died at 2 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at his home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Winklepleck Weesner Funeral Home in Brownstown with Davis Ison officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown.

Memorials may be made to Freetown United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra (Edward Jr.) Flynn of Freetown; sons, Steven Wayne Bevers and Charles Lee "Chuck" Bevers, both of Freetown; a sister, Betty (Donnell) Littell of North Vernon; and brothers, Carl (Ann) Bevers of Chicago, Gary (Linda) Bevers of Seymour and Richard (Bev) Bevers of Bedford.

Mr. Bevers was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie L. Stout Bevers.

Morris Wayne Bevers, 73, Freetown, passed away unexpectedly at 2 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at his residence.

Mr. Bevers had retired from Cummins Engine Co. after more than 35 years of service. He was a devoted father who was very active at Freetown United Methodist Church where he was a member, served on the Church Board and also was a trustee of the church. He was very involved with the church youth groups.

Born March 18, 1935, in Jackson County, he was the son of Charles and Mary Audry George Bevers. On Oct. 26, 1957, in Jackson County, he married Bettie L. Stout, who preceded him in death Sept. 2, 2001.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra (Edward Jr.) Flynn, Freetown; two sons, Steven Wayne Bevers and Charles Lee "Chuck" Bevers, both of Freetown; a sister, Betty (Donnell) Littell, North Vernon; and three brothers, Carl (Ann) Bevers, Chicago, Gary (Linda) Bevers, Seymour, and Richard (Bev) Bevers, Bedford.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister.

David Ison will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
