Elizabeth "Betty" A. Myers of Venice, Fla., age 74, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008.
She was born in Detroit, Mich., and in her teens moved to Smith's Creek, Mich. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1952 and had a bachelor's degree from Fort Wayne Bible College in Fort Wayne, Ind. At college she met and married Elvin C. Myers, and from 1961 to 1978 they served together as missionaries to the Wayuu Indians in Columbia, South America. She served the Lord faithfully with her husband in the ministry in churches in Pennsylvania, Colorado, Virginia and Nokomis, Fla.
Left behind to mourn her passing are her husband and five children with their spouses, Jeanette and Donald Briggs of Grenada, British West Indies, Ruth and Gary Cloud of Tampa, John Paul and Melissa Myers of Denver, Colo., Lynne and Ron Thomas of Venice, and Michael Myers of Tampa. There are also nine grandchildren. Ewing Funeral Home is in charge of Arrangements.
Services: A memorial service will be held at Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Nokomis, Saturday, Nov. 15, at 10:30 a.m.
Contributions: Gifts in memory of Betty may be given to Grace Bible Fellowship or TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fl. 34238.
