Passed Away at the advanced aged of 78 years, 6 months and 6 days, Abner Lasater passed away last Monday morning September 26, 1898. He was born near Nashville, Tenn., March 20, 1820, and was married to Matilda Strictling July 4, 1843. They had fourteen children, five of whom are still living.
"Uncle Ab" as he was familiarly known was a faithful member of the church having belonged to the U.B. church for near thirty years. In his own language he "had been serving the Lord nigh on to forty years." He made all preparations for his funeral and requested that Mr. Matt Edmonds and Rev. Frank Marshall should preach the funeral. He was exceedingly happy during his last illness and shouted as long as he could and was anxious and ready to go.
The services were held in the U.B. church Tuesday at 2 o'clock. The body was interred in the new cemetery.
