Son of Silas H. and Monica Wallis Hart. He lived in the Ovilla and Red Oak areas where he farmed with his family. He married Grace C. Gibbs of Lancaster on October 17, 1925. After they married Cornelius worked for Ford Motor Company and they moved a lot. They moved back to this area and settled in Bristol in 1972. They were members of the Church of Christ. Grace preceded him in death on November 15, 1996. They are survived by two sons, three daughters, 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
