Jewel Miles, 90, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel of Fort Worth. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Jewel was born Sept. 6, 1918, in Montague County to John and Maulcey Richardson. She worked at Dickson and Jenkins for 35 years as a seamstress. Jewel enjoyed 29 years as Sunday school superintendent at Southside Full Gospel Church. She loved to sing gospel songs and play games. The family wishes to thank Vitas Hospice for all their care.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, J.C. Abbott; second husband, Henry Miles; sons, Cecil and Earl Abbott; son-in-law, R.H. House; grandson, Robbie Abbott; two great-great-granddaughters; and her parents.
Survivors: Children, Dorothy House, Robert Abbott and wife, Glenda, Mary Willis and husband, Willie, and Norman Abbott and wife, Elaine; grandchildren, David House and wife, Barbara, Diane House, Harlon House and wife, Jeanene, Michael House and wife, Lorie, Janetta Wood and husband, Greg, Bethany Nichols and husband, Paul, Gwenette Tennison and husband, Roy, Julie Neathery and husband, Rick, Deanna Sneed, Larry Sneed and wife, Nita, Kelly DePriest and husband, Wade, Jason Abbott and wife, Iris, Norman Abbott Jr. and wife, Kerrie, and Crystal Stevens and husband, Kelly; 24 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
