Dorothy Mae (Abbott) House, 80 year-old longtime Maud, Oklahoma resident, and former Wewoka, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born August 6, 1936 in Montague, Texas to parents John Clint Abbott and Emily Jewel (Richardson) Abbott.

On June 28, 1952 Dorothy married R.H. “Okie” House. The couple moved to Wewoka, Oklahoma in 1970 and to Maud, Oklahoma in 1971.

Dorothy was a member of the First Assembly of God in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. She had also been active in the Maud Nutrition Center where she loved playing dominoes.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Cleve “David” House and his wife Barbara of Cushing, Oklahoma, “Harlon” Ray House and his wife Jeanene of Seminole, Oklahoma, James “Michael” House and his wife Lorie of Muskogee, Oklahoma; two daughters “Diane” Kathleen Matlock of Seminole, Oklahoma, “Janetta” Louise Schuerman and her husband Lyn of Lexington, Oklahoma; two brothers, Robert Wayne Abbott and his wife Glenda of Mansfield, Texas, Norman Glenn Abbott and his wife Elaine of Burleson, Texas; one sister, Mary Ellen Willis of Kendell, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, R.H. “Okie” House who died in 1998, by two brothers, Cecil Clint Abbott, Waldo Abbott, and by one granddaughter, Dani Michelle House who died in 1987.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Wesley Martin officiating the Service. Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.
