Lansing G. Coplin, 79, of Charlotte died Monday, July 18, 1994, in the St. Lawrence Dimondale Nursing Home after an illness of several months.
He was born Feb. 22, 1915, in Walton Township, Eaton County, to Clarence and Viola (Volant) [sic] Coplin. He graduated in 1936 from Olivet High School and was a lifelong resident of Walton Township.
Mr. Coplin was a field representative for Farm Bureau Services in Lansing for 33 years, retiring in 1980.
He was a charter member of Ainger Bible Church, Olivet, and a member of its board since 1940.
On June 2, 1939, he married Wilma Taylor. She survives.
Also surviving are sons, Duane Coplin of Lansing and Marvin Coplin of Streeter [sic], Ill.; a daughter, Elaine Baker of Battle Creek; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest "Stubb" Coplin of Olivet; and a sister, Pearl Stults of Battle Creek.
Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday in Ainger Bible Church, Olivet, with the Rev. Scott Brood officiating.
Burial: Bosworth Cemetery, Olivet.
