Charlie was the oldest child of Charles H. & Laura Ann (Blacker) Bowles. He came to KS. with his parents in 1875 by covered wagon.They lived in Calvin & Brownscreek townships.
On Dec. 21, 1891, he was married to Clara F. Justice. They had 3 daughters,Alfleda, Fay, & Veda. After the death of Clara, in 1952, he sold his home & lived around with his daughters.
