Born in Olden, Texas on September 13, 1927 to Lois T. and Viola Elsie (Lawson) Groves, she attended Olden School and was a Ranger High School graduate. She attended North Texas State University and worked for Texas Electric Service Co. in the Ranger office.
In 1949 she married Bruce Pipkin and they worked for Pipkin Piggly Wiggly before opening the Pipkin Sporting Goods and later Pipkin Motor Company where she was the bookkeeper. She had been active in the Eastland PTO and the First United Methodist Church. She & Bruce enjoyed traveling and RV camping.
She is survived by sons: Gary Bruce Pipkin and daughter Meagan of Abilene, and Mark and wife Rhonda Pipkin of Eastland and sons Ryan Pipkin of North Richland Hills and Rhett Pipkin of San Angelo; sisters June Heinaman of Midland Texas and Jean Hendrick of Harker Heights; 1 niece and 2 nephews.
