June Laverne Groves Heinemann, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away early Friday morning, September 9, 2011, surrounded by family. She was born April 3, 1922, in Olden, Texas, to Lois T. and Viola Rosson Groves. June graduated from Olden High School where she reigned as Homecoming Queen her senior year. She is a graduate of the St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Fort Worth, Texas, where she obtained her licensing as a Registered Nurse. June married Joseph L. Heinemann in Denton, Texas on July 14, 1941. After World War II, the couple made their home in Vanderbilt, Texas until 1951 when they moved to Midland, Texas. June was employed by the Mast Clinic as head nurse for doctors Henry and John Mast. In 1955, she went to work as a school nurse for the Midland Independent School District, and retired in 1985. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, and two sisters, Jean Hendrick and Doris Pipkin. June is survived by her son, Joey Heinemann and wife, Leone, of Midland, TX; daughter, Holly Haile and husband, Jeff, of Midland, TX; grandchildren Jason Heinemann, Courtney Heinemann, Joshua Haile, Michael Heinemann and wife, Jade, Brian Heinemann, Cameron Heinemann, and Jayce Heinemann all of Midland, TX. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their heart-felt gratitude to Home Hospice and the caregivers at The Red Rose. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 13, 2011, from 6-8:00 p.m., at Ellis Funeral Home. Graveside service are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at Resthaven Memorial Park.
