Loela M. Davies Holtzhauer, 88, of Sample Road, Allison Park, formerly of Lower Burrell, died yesterday (March 15, 1989) at 11 a.m. in North Hills Passavant Hospital, McCandless. Born Oct. 28, 1900, in Youngstown, Ohio, she moved to the Allegheny Valley in 1924 and lived on Delberta Road in Lower Burrell most of her life. In 1984, she moved to the Allison Park home of a daughter, Mrs. Nathan (Delberta) Kerr. Mrs. Holtzhauer enjoyed needlework. In addition to her daughter, survivors include two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert H. Holtzhauer in 1971; her parents, David and Frances Clee Davies; two brothers, Arthur and Welden Davies; and a sister, Vera Lockwood. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Churchfield-Peters Funeral Home, 501 Fifth Ave., New Kensington, where services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. John Thompson, pastor of St. Paul Methodist Church, Allison Park. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
