Deceased Name: Rula Mae Griffiths Bartholomew
FILLMORE - Rula Mae Griffiths Bartholomew, 76, beloved mother, cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, favorite aunt, and dear friend, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by many of her children and her grandchildren September 1, 2002.

She was born May 8, 1926 in Beaver, UT to Thomas L. and Minnie Halsey Griffiths. She married Duane O. Bartholomew June 2, 1943 in Ely, NV. Later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died Aug 13, 1996. She was a devoted companion of 53 years to her dear husband. Rula and her husband were founders of Duane's Food Town where she spent most of her time serving her customers who she thought of as her dear friends. She loved to go to work and was saddened when on July 3, 2002 she could no longer take care of those tasks she enjoyed so much. She was an member of the LDS Church, where she served as a Relief Society teacher and in the Relief Society presidency. She also enjoyed many years as a Primary teacher. She and her husband served in the Cove Fort Mission, where they enjoyed serving the Lord. She had a deep and abiding faith and deep love for Our Savior. She practiced the golden rule.

Survived by children, Joyce (Lafe) Parrish, American Fork, UT, Craig (Betty Ann), Fillmore, UT, Jayne (Don) Knight, Delta, UT, Randy (Arlene) Fillmore, UT, Joan Carroll, Cheyenne, WY, Julie (Dave) Johnson, Sutherland, UT; 41 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and sister, Myrtle Myers, Roosevelt, UT.

Services will be Thurs. Sept 5, 2002, 11 a.m., Fillmore 4th Ward Chapel. Friends may call Wed. 7-9 p.m., Olpin Mortuary, Fillmore and Thurs. 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the Church. Interment, Fillmore City Cemetery. Directors, Olpin Mortuary.

She was a wonderful mother, who had a great capacity for unconditional love and will be missed by all who knew her. She is gone from our sight but not our hearts.
