Mr. Bewley loved horses and shared his love of horses with everyone; especially the children. He worked in several states for prominent horse trainers; including Jack Newton, Lanny Ashely, Cletus Hulling, John Wilkins, and Bob Hurley. Mr. Bewley also worked at the Nolke Ranch in West Texas and the Mescalero Apache Reservation in New Mexico.
Mr. Bewley was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Pottsville, Arkansas.
Mr. Bewley was preceded in death by his fahter: his step-father: Wilbert Combs; and a step-sister: Ruth Branch.
He is survived by his beloved mother: Hilda Combs, of Atkins, Arkansas; two brothers: Robert Bewley and his wife: Nola, of Waverly, Kansas, and Alan Bewley of Atkins, Arkansas; two nieces: Amanda Bewley of Pottsville, Arkansas, Jessica Bewley, also of Atkins, Arkansas; a nephew: Gary Bewley of Fort Worth, Texas; Tish Rehm of Atkins, Arkansas; a step-brother: Wes Combs of South Dakota; three step-sisters: Eileen Coker, of Burlington, Kansas, Louise King, of Atkins, Arkansas, and Mary Hamilton, of Monticello, Arkansas; numerous nieces/nephews; grandnieces/grandnephews; and a host of dear friends.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at the 1st Baptist Church in Pottsville, Arkansas. Rev. Jim Huffman, officiated the service. The body was cremated.
Pallbearers were: Scott Tate, Ronald Kendirck, Terry Parker, David Newton, Dale Sears, and Gary Bewley.
Honorary pallbearers were: Randy Broyles, Wayne Branch, Jerry King, Gary Lowry, and Jerry Don Barrett.
