Mr. Davenport, a native of Plymouth, N.C., had retired from the National Maritime Union. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include two sisters, Mattie Edwards of Portsmouth and Marie Davidson of Norfolk; three brothers, Fermon Davenport of Chesapeake, Mack Davenport of Roper, N.C., and Johnnie M. Davenport of Creswell, N.C.
The graveside service will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Hampton National Veterans Cemetery by the Rev. J. L. Kearney Sr. Friends may join the family at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday in Corprew Funeral Home. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. today in the funeral home.
