Charles is the son of Dr. Jeremiah Andrews and Sarah Clark Jackson. He married Jennie Hazeltine at her parent's home, "Mount Hope", in Sugar Grove, Warren County, Pennsylvania on 3 December 1878. In the 1890's he was proprietor of the Hotel Brunswick in Titusville, Pennsylvania and was involved in Pennsylvania politics with his brother's, William Henry "Bull" Andrews and Wesley R Andrews. At the time of his death he had been residing in Ben Avon on the outskirts of Pittsburgh where he was secretary of the Pennsylvania and Western Pennsylvania Brewer's Association.
