Betty Jo Sellers
Betty Jo Seller, 80, formerly of Girard, KS died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Southern Hills Retirement Center in Tulsa, OK, where she moved to be closer to her son.
Betty was born February 22, 1927 in Clinton, Mo. to Charlie and Nellie (Muse) Francis. She attended area schools, graduating from Cherokee High School.
On May 10, 1941 she married Miles Ed Dorsey, Jr. He preceded her in death. She later married Lee R. Sellers on July 3, 1972 in Miami, OK. He also preceded her in death.
Betty was a legal secretary for Robert O. Carr Law Offices for a few years. later she was a homemaker.
Betty was a member of the First Christian Church of Girard, KS.
Betty is survived by her sons Kent Dorsey and his wife jan of Tulsa, OK and Charles Dorsey and his wife Roberta of Boardman, OH, along with two grandchildren Sarah Elizabeth Petrie and he husband Eddie of Tampa, FL and Gracin Miles Dorsey of Eugene, OR.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2008, at Cherokee City Cemetery in Cherokee, KS with Rev. Doug Amend officiating.
Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery on Friday. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday at Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac. The family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the SEK Humane Society. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Friskel Funeral Home, 230 E. McKay St. in Frontenac, KS 66763.
