Roland Harris Elliott, age 75, of Bat Cave Rd., Old Fort, NC died Sunday, January 13, 2002 in Mission Hospital, Asheville. Born in Rutherford County to the late Bynum and Bessie Collins Elliott he was a self-employed farmer. He was a Charter Member and Past Governor of Black Mountain Moose Lodge #2220. He had advance to the highest degree of Moose International, The Pilgrim of Merit.

Surviving are his wife, Grace Davis Elliott; two daughters, Donna Davis and husband, Ralph and Teresa Robertson both of Old Fort, NC; one brother, Kenneth Elliott of Mobile, AL; three sisters, Peggy Blythe of Apex, NC, Edith Robertson of Marion, NC, Brenda Shotghen of Mobile, AL; three brothers-in-law, Cecil Davis and wife Ann of Chapel Hill, NC C. L. Davis of Morganton, NC, Roger Davis and wife, Dianne of Maiden, NC; one sister-in-law, Doris Meadows and husband, Pete of Asheville, NC; one grandson, Brandon Davis and one granddaughter, Heather Davis both of Old Fort, NC.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2002 in the Old Fort Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home. The Rev. James Kisselburg and Rev. Kenny Schultz officiated with burial following in Cherry Springs Memorial Park. The family received friends Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:30 at the funeral home. Kirksey Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
