He was born September 28, 1927 in the Town of New Holstein, a son of the late Alex Sr. & Frances (Fessler) Woelfel.
He graduated from New Holstein High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
In July 15, 1953 he married Shirley Timm at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein; she preceded him in death on October 17, 2007.
Clarence had worked at the Associated Fur Farms and the Silver Moon Foods in New Holstein all his life.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, and a member of the New Holstein American Legion Post 124. He enjoyed his family, gardening, playing cards, and working in his yard. He was a devoted husband and will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his 7 children, Glenn Woelfel and his special friend Debra Riesterer of Kiel, Wayne (Laurie) Woelfel of Green Bay, Gene Woelfel of New Holstein, Bryon (Kathy) Woelfel of Fredonia, Joann Woelfel of Green Bay, John Woelfel and his special friend Vicki Henschel of New Holstein and Jeff Woelfel of Wautoma; 9 grandchildren, Tina (Keith) Reese, Todd Woelfel and his special friend Megan Pierce, Julie (Keith) Fischer, Doug (Gina) Woelfel, Mark (Becky) Woelfel, Ashley & Brent Woelfel & Devin & Sarah Fowler; 11 great-grandchildren, Mark, Keith jr., Elizabeth, Logan, Austin, Dominick, Elijah, Mason, Samantha, Jenna & Kyle; 5 sisters, Margaret (LaVerne) Halbach, Eleanor (Ken) Klotz, Doris (Bob) Turba, Betty (Lloyd) Petrie all of New Holstein and Deloris Kampfer of Chilton; 2 brothers, Alex Jr. (Gladys) Woelfel of New Holstein and Donald (Betty) Woelfel of Bradenton, FL; a brother-in-law, Arthur (Betty) Timm of Branson, MO, and 2 sisters-in-law, Lillian (Ronald) Heuser of Green Bay and Ruth Timm of Green Bay.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Shirley; a grandson, Tyler Woelfel; his brother and his wife, Paul (Olga) Woelfel; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman & Frances Timm; a sister-in-law, Alice Jane Woelfel and 2 brothers-in-law, Jerome Kampfer and Herbert Timm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, October 17, 2008 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 1724 Madison Street New Holstein. Rev. Harold Berryman, Pastor, will officiate. Burial with Military Rites will be in the Holy Rosary Cemetery in New Holstein.
