WALTHAM Katherine S. (Stangby) Aalerud, of Waltham, died Oct 6, 2008, at the age of 90. Mrs Aalerud was a lifelong resident of Waltham, attending Waltham schools and working in Waltham, until her retirement from Xerox. She was active in the bowling league at the Wal-Lex. She was a member of the Waltham Twirlers for many years, and sang in the choir at the First Congregational Church of Waverley in Belmont. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold S. Aalerud. She is survived by her nephew, Ronald Gudbrandsen and his wife, Janice, of Pooler, Ga.; her great-nephew, Eric Gudbrandsen of Canton, Ga., and her great-great-nephew, Peter Gudbrandsen. A funeral service will be held in the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home, 36 Trapelo Road, Belmont, on Friday, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
