Bertha Lou Beach

A longtime Palo resident, Mrs. Bertha Lou Beach, 99 died at Ionia County Memorial Hospital Thursday evening after being a patient eight days.

Born in Pennsylvania, August 19, 1872, she was the daughter of David and Lucy Clark Hendrick. She came to Michigan with her family as a child living near Lowell before moving to Palo where she has resided the past 85 years.

She was married April 15, 1891, Clarence Olney Beach and he died June 8, 1909.

Surviving are two sons, Orva of Palo, and Dewey of Ionia; daughter, Mrs. Otis Bailey of Ronald township; four grand-children; 17 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1 P.M. at Leddick Funeral Home. Pastor Gordon Stecker of Ionia Seventh-Day Adventist Church will officiate and interment will be at Palo Cemetery. Family will be at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 P.M..

Bearers were Delmar Warner, Richard and Arnold Warner, Stephen Beach, Fred Hull and Hollis Hendrick.
