Lloyd Allen Drummond, age 93 of Newton, Texas died on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in Newton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 10:00 am at the Pine Grove Baptist Church near Newton. Interment will follow at Ford Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Newton.
Lloyd was born in Clark Co., Illinois and had lived in Newton for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a retired auto mechanic.
Survivors include his daughter, Donna Folsom and husband, Jimmy of Newton, Texas; son-in-law, Lee Persky of Bellville, Texas; grandchildren, Lisa Ippolito of Spring, Texas, Tracy Persky of Bryan, Texas, Michelle Morgan of Newton and Jim Folsom of Newton; and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Rachel Drummond on Dec. 27, 1992, his daughter, Lynda Persky on Oct. 15, 2000, his parents, Lawrence and Gertrude Drummond, brothers, Clyde and James Drummond and his sister, Elsie Dehl
